As an advertiser with VEM Global™ you are probably aware of the deals and specials that run on any of our sites such as ResortsandLodges.com. You also may have heard from some of our staff urging you to submit a deal or special so that we may promote your property or business on our Ad Network. There are a few important factors to consider when submitting deals to our Ad Network partners, so in order to help our clients, here is a short list of things to keep in mind when submitting deals to our team.
Timing is everything. When we say timing is everything, we mean two things:
1. Yes, it is important to have a specific time during the year you want to run your deal(s). It all depends on when your consumers are looking for deals – e.g. warm getaway vacation specials are popular to run in the winter in northern climates Within the contractor industry, homeowners are likely wanting to re-do their windows in the spring (for spring cleaning)
2. When you submit your deal to our team is important too – it takes time to publish the deal on our niche sites, and to syndicate them to our networks. Thus we ask for all deals to be submitted by Friday at noon the week prior to the run start. This gives multiple teams plenty of time to get your deal or special up and running on time!
Price points are king. Submitting a great deal is one thing, but submitting a deal with a price point is KING. Consumers are looking for a price when seeing a deal – they are more likely to click for more information when they see the price. Also, try to stick to using a “9” in the price’s last digit, as consumers see a price ending in “9” as more affordable. They are more likely to click on a deal for a $79/night hotel room rather than a $83/night hotel room – the difference is just $4 but it makes a big difference from the customer’s perspective.
The details are important. Submitting a deal with all of the pertinent deals is always a good idea. For the travel industry, include travel dates, days the offer is good for (does it exclude weekends?), added value items, and specific terms and conditions that also apply. It is also important to know if your deal or special can be beat anywhere else on the Web. It’s important to realize that if a customer can find your property offering different rates on different sites or even your front desk it can lower your credibility with the potential guest. You should make sure your business is offering consistent rates.
You should promote your deal too. Having your deal on your website is also important. If you consider your website as your very own storefront, you should get consumers (who may see your message on another site) to visit your site and sell them on your deals and specials as well. One of our main goals with our Ad Network is to bring consumers to your deal’s details and then directly to your website. If your deal details aren’t on your website – where will the customer see your own business backing the deal as well? It may be a disconnect that can cost you business – if people are motivated for a specific deal and they don’t see it on your website, how many of them are going to give up and move on?
